This year, THNIC Academy, a division of the Thai Network Information Center (THNIC), organized a four-day hackathon event in collaboration with the Thai Webmaster & Online Media Association and ThaiPBS, a national television broadcaster. The event, titled “Young Webmaster Camp” (YWC), brought together 80 high school students from across Thailand, divided into 10 teams of 8 participants each.
More than 10 instructors and guest speakers joined to share their knowledge and experience with the participants. The theme of this year’s camp was “Web Never Dies: How to Make It UA-Ready.” As a result, all teams successfully developed websites that are Universal Acceptance (UA) ready and gained awareness that domains and email addresses in local languages are possible.
The event was also broadcast live on Facebook, helping raise public awareness about UA beyond the camp participants
