On April 23rd, the Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNICF) organized the UA Day event under the theme “The importance of the Thai language in electronic government practices and setting up an email server with EAI support on Ubuntu.” The event was divided into two parts:
- The first part consisted of a panel discussion with representatives from various government agencies, including the Thailand National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), and the Thai Network Information Center Foundation (THNICF). The panelists were:
– Major General Teerawut Wittayakorn (NCSA)
– Wijak Sukawatja (DGA)
– Thiwakorn Tang-On (DGA)
– Chaya Limchitti (THNICF)
– Anawin Pongsaboripat (THNICF)
The discussion began with cybersecurity topics, including the use of a short URL system developed jointly by DGA and THNICF. This ShortURL system supports the use of Thai language domains and emails, distinguishing it from other ShortURL systems. Additionally, there was emphasis on the development of email systems within government agencies to support the Thai language for easier communication with the public, building trust in government agencies, and increasing internet accessibility while reducing fraud. The panel discussion took place from 10:00 to 12:00 Thai time, with over 220 participants from government agencies, education, and interested members of the public.

- The second part of the event was a workshop titled “Setting up an email server with EAI support on Ubuntu.” The workshop had 24 participants, including monks, government agencies, programmers, and email providers. All 24 participants successfully completed the training and learned how to develop email systems that support Thai language domains and emails. They intend to apply this knowledge to enhance their respective organization’s email systems
