On May 27, 2021, ICANN and APTLD held a UA regional training program webinar, “Universal Acceptance: Its Impact and Next Steps”.

The roundtable discussion, also called “The ccTLD Knights Round Table and Quest for Universal Acceptance”, included Sarmad Hussain (ICANN), Leonid Todorov (APTLD), Maria Kolesnikova (Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ), Jiankang Yao (CNNIC), Pensri Arunwatanamongkol (THNIC), Shubham Saran (NIXI), Grigory Sagyan (ISOC Armenia) and other experts.

Pensri Arunwatanamongkol, Thailand UA Local Initiative Chair, shared her opinions on what a ccTLD manager must do internally to update their own systems to be UA ready. She also explained how the ultimate goals for each stakeholder may differ, however, every ccTLD manager should act as a catalyst in a UA ready ecosystem.
